Windows Server 2025 Standard from Alkimio. Windows Server 2025 Standard is the server operating system for physical servers and lightly virtualised environments. This license covers 16 physical cores on one server, which is the minimum required for each server.
Windows Server is licensed by core. Every physical core in the server must be licensed, with a minimum of 8 cores per processor and 16 cores per server. When all physical cores are licensed, Standard edition allows two virtual machines, or operating system environments, on that server. Additional core licenses are needed for servers with more than 16 cores or for more virtual machines.
Client Access Licenses are required for each user or device that connects to the server. These are sold separately. Each server needs core licenses for all physical cores, with a minimum of 8 per processor and 16 per server.

Delivery and activation
After payment we send your license details and activation steps by email, usually within one business day. Some products are made available in your Microsoft 365 admin center instead. Orders placed outside business hours (Monday to Friday, 9:00 to 18:00 UK time) are processed on the next business day, and the license also appears in your Alkimio account under Orders.
